    What Is Estradiol?

Estradiol is a form of estrogen produced by developing ovarian follicles and used as a marker of follicle growth during IVF stimulation.

    How Estradiol Is Monitored

During ovarian stimulation, estradiol levels are measured through blood tests every few days. Rising estradiol indicates that follicles are growing and eggs are maturing. Doctors use estradiol levels alongside ultrasound measurements to decide when to administer the trigger shot.

    Why It Matters in IVF

Estradiol helps guide medication dosing and timing during IVF stimulation. Excessively high estradiol levels may indicate a risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
