What Is Ovarian Stimulation?
Ovarian stimulation is the use of hormone medications to encourage the ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs during an IVF cycle.
How Ovarian Stimulation Works
In a natural menstrual cycle, the body usually releases one egg. During IVF, medications stimulate several follicles to grow so that multiple eggs can be retrieved.
Why It Matters in IVF
Retrieving multiple eggs increases the chances of creating healthy embryos.
