    Postpartum Care

    Medical follow-up after birth for the surrogate, including recovery visits and monitoring.

    What is included

    Postpartum care includes follow-up visits with the OB-GYN, wound care after cesarean delivery, mental health screening, and physical recovery monitoring. In surrogacy, the intended parents typically cover these costs as part of the surrogacy agreement.

    Duration

    Standard postpartum care extends six to eight weeks after delivery. If the surrogate experienced complications, additional follow-up visits or specialist care may be required.
