    What Is Infertility?

Infertility is the inability to achieve pregnancy after a year of regular unprotected intercourse.

    How Infertility Is Diagnosed

Infertility is typically diagnosed after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse without conception. For individuals over 35, evaluation is recommended after six months. Diagnosis involves testing both partners to identify contributing factors.

    Causes and Contributing Factors

Infertility can result from ovulation disorders, tubal blockage, endometriosis, low sperm count, poor sperm motility, or unexplained factors. In approximately one-third of cases, the cause is attributed to male factors; one-third to female factors; and one-third to combined or unexplained causes.
