What Is SART Data?
SART data refers to the clinic-level outcome reports published by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. These reports include live birth rates, pregnancy rates, and cycle statistics stratified by patient age and diagnosis.
Clinical significance
SART data is the primary tool for comparing IVF clinic outcomes in the United States. All SART-member clinics are required to report their outcomes, which are verified and published annually. The data should be read within specific age groups and with awareness of patient selection effects.
Common confusion
Higher SART success rates do not always indicate a better clinic. Some clinics accept more complex cases, which lowers average rates. Others may have stricter patient selection criteria that inflate reported success.
