    What Is Embryo Donation?

Embryo donation is a process where unused embryos from one family are transferred to another person to achieve pregnancy.

    How Embryo Donation Works

Families who have completed IVF and have remaining frozen embryos may choose to donate them. The recipient undergoes endometrial preparation and receives the thawed embryo via a frozen embryo transfer. Legal agreements define parental rights before the transfer takes place.

    Considerations

Embryo donation involves medical, legal, and emotional considerations. Recipients should work with a reproductive attorney to establish legal parentage. Success rates depend on the quality of the donated embryos and the age of the egg provider at the time the embryos were created.
